Education is a powerful tool. It enables us to obtain our hopes and dreams, and in our current society, we can see the power of educational influence unfold and send a loud and clear message to generations of people. Education has influenced our society to feel safe enough to cross boundaries that we've not trusted to be crossed before. The boundary that was crossed of which I am referring to, was done strategically by educating a people that was once stuck in bigotry or simply unable to be reached because no attemptwas ever induced to capture their values, opinions, and hopes.
Not attempting to address the bigot's in American society today due to the fact that only they can see themselves and ask for deliverance from their fears, struggles, and contentions. But I do ask how a group labeled generation X could speak so loudly on one day, over thirteen hours. The answer: Great minds or at least like minds came together, organized, planned, worked hard, dedicated time, energy and money to do one thing: WIN in the power of ONE VOICE. What would our world or American culture resemble if we took this same approach to educate youths who are in gangs, hate groups or cults? If we all banded together in one voice to win over the hurt, lost, confused generation of people who have no place in society. We would see instantaneous change happen in our community, state, nation, and world. We would see the ideals of our nation be redefined right before our eyes just as it happened a few days ago.
My question to you the reader, is, what are your attitudes and predispositions that stunt American society? Surely you have some, whether they are unspoken, casually mentioned in your home, toggled across your mind when you feel unjustified, or when you realize that people don't view the world as you do. Whatever your attitudes and predispositions may be, I encourage you to educate yourself for the good of the influence.
In summation, let us join together in the power of educational influence and work towards changing the past hurts and wounds of our nation so that we may be united as one. In other words, let's go further.
